World science eyes on Tajikistan

A delegation of world leading scientists from Russia, Japan and other countries, guided by Professor Kholmirzo Kholmurodov from the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research (JINR) of famous Russian city Dubna in Moscow region, are planning to make a first visit to Tajikistan’ capital and to hold a new international symposium DSCMBS-2014 ("Dushanbe Symposium on Computational Materials and Biological Sciences"). The DSCMBS-2014 will be hosted by S.U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan during September 23-28, 2014. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute, Director of this institute and former JINR` member).

 

The Dushanbe Symposium DSCMBS-2014 as an international scientific forum assumed to be as trilateral exchanges between TajikistanRussia and Japan for the future development of the scientific research, especially of computational materials and biological sciences. One has to mention in this issue Japan-Russia Workshop MSSMBS “Molecular Simulation Studies in Material and Biological Sciences” which has been already held five times during 2004-2012 in JINR (the 5th MSSMBS workshop was held on the base of JINR of Dubna on 9-12 September 2012). Also last year in Japan the 1st International Symposium on Computational Materials and Biological Sciences (ISCMBS) was held during 10-12 September 2013 in Waseda UniversityTokyo, to make this bilateral collaboration more international. So far, the border of the scientific cooperative meeting on the world scale has greatly been expanding, hoping that the new Symposium in Dushanbewill provide a good chance for the opening of the trilateral communication in science between TajikistanJapan and Russia.

 

The DSCMBS-2014 symposium has appeared to provide an ideal opportunity to discuss the latest development and exchange technical ideas in the field of computational materials and biological sciences. Especially, as organizers were planning, the DSCMBS-2014 would promote to establish the very close cooperation between young researchers that help to strengthen the future scientific cooperation between TajikistanRussia and Japan. In the framework of the DSCMBS the presentation talks and lectures would be given not only by leading Russian and Japanese scientists, but also by young researchers from Russia and Japan, covering the following topics: the development of high performance computers and new theoretical methods; computational methods in modern materials and biological sciences, and so on. The contributions of Tajikistani scientists are greatly welcome to make their bridges with Japanese and Russian colleagues and to promote a new branch of world science in the own country. In particular, the research topics to be covered at DSCMBS-2014 are as follows:

 

*Computer molecular simulation methods and approaches

*Molecular dynamics (MD) and Monte-Carlo (MC) techniques

*Modeling of biological molecules (RNA, DNA, proteins, enzymes, mutation transitions, etc.)

*Physical and biochemical systems (gasses, crystals, liquids, polymers, bio-tribology, etc.)

*Material fabrication and design (ion doped structures, high pressure clathrates, carbon nanotubes, etc.)

*Drug design in medicine (docking of one molecule to another, inhibitory activities of enzymes, etc.)

*Computational and computing physics, chemistry, biology and medicine

*GPU accelerated molecular dynamics & related techniques

 

The representatives of the research institute and universities are already registered for the DSCMBS-2014 Symposium including: Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Nagahama Institute of Bio-Science and Technology, Keio University, Waseda University (Japan),  Moscow State University, Joint Institute for High Temperatures, RAS, Moscow, Puschino Scientific Center, RAS, Puschino, Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry RAS, Moscow (Russia), National Academy of Sciences (Armenia),  University Paris-Diderot (France), so on.

 

Such high level Japan-Russia-Tajikistani conferences are focused on the computational simulation, mainly on the molecular dynamics simulation, thereby serving as an example of rapid informational and technological exchanges in our rather fast changing world of creation of new materials, new drugs and new scientific-educational tools. We also imply the cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the delegations of the participating countries on the DSCMBS-2014 Symposium.
