SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR ON THE TOPIC “Electronic Energy Structure of Nanocrystalline Oxides Doped with Mn4+ Ions” (Dushanbe, PhTI – 04.04.2023)

Over the past decades, the research, development and use of new functional materials has gradually taken a key role in the development of technology and the economic development of modern society. The application of new structural nano-composite materials has led to countless advances in areas such as electronics, information technology, automotive and aerospace transportation, biomedicine, energy storage, and nanotechnology.

Based on this, in order to train young personnel in the field of research and development of nanocomposite functional materials, in the S.U.Umarov Physical–Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan has been conducting intensive research in this direction since 2019, as well as scientific seminars and discussions are regularly held. and discussions on the issues of quantum mechanical calculations of electronic structures of innovative materials in the framework of the density functional theory.

In particular, on April 04, 2023, following the results of research in the first quarter of this year, the results of the work of a group of young researchers from the Theoretical Physics Sector of the Department of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies of the Institute were discussed at the scientific seminar of the Institute on the topic “Electronic Energy Structure of Nanocrystalline Oxides Doped with Mn4+ Ions”. Note that nanocrystalline materials doped with “foreign” atoms have broad functional properties. Nanocrystalline materials doped with Mn4+ ions are used in LED manufacturing as red phosphors to produce white light. At the same time, it is LEDs that emit white light that are most in demand in lighting devices.

The research was carried out with the support of the state budget research project (No. 0119TJ00994, for 2019-2023), as well as the International Science and Technology Center (Grant No. #TJ-2726).
