October 4-6, 2021 on the initiative of the S.U.Umarov Physical–Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan will host an International Conference “New trends in condensed matter physics: Quantum transport, novel materials and advanced technologies”. The scientists from the Commonwealth of Independent States and foreign countries will take part in this scientific event. In particular, reports of foreign scientists from Azerbaijan, Germany, Italy, Israel, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Turkey, USA and Uzbekistan are expected. According to the main plan of the event, scientific discussions will be held, including on the following topics – Topological phenomena in low-dimensional materials, Dirac and Weyl semimetals, Quantum optics and nanophotonics, Novel materials for thermoelectric energy conversion, Low-dimensional functional materials and other relevant areas of the physical and technical field. We note that due to the restrictions associated with the pandemic, foreign scientists and experts present their scientific achievements in a remote (online) format.
It should be noted that this International Conference is supported by the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (https://www.ictp.it/). Recall that this Center operates under the auspices of a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), one of the main tasks of which is to promote the development of science in developing countries.
The institute also thanks the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan for including this conference in the institute’s plan of events, as well as the leadership of the Uzbekistan Physics Society for advice and assistance in organizing this event.
Modern achievements of world science are the main axis of the development of society and the basis for economic development and raising the social standard of living of the peoples of the world. Over the 30-year period of state independence of our country, good conditions have been created for scientific research, education and training, including in the field of natural, exact and mathematical sciences. Joint scientific conferences with physicists and specialists from foreign scientific centers are important for further raising the level of fundamental scientific research in our country, establishing bilateral cooperation and are practically one of the main and irreplaceable sources of creative ideas for the intensive development of science, production and the economy of the modern world.
