INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE “MODERN THEORY OF SOLITONS AND NONLINEAR DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS”

On September 11–12, 2026, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Theory of Solitons and Nonlinear Dynamical Systems” was held at the S.U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan in Dushanbe. The conference was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the 20th anniversary of the study and development of natural, exact, and mathematical sciences in the fields of science and education, as well as the 60th anniversary of Academician Hikmat Halimovich Muminov, an outstanding scientist, physicist, science organizer, and educator.

The conference brought together scientists, professors, researchers, and specialists from scientific institutions and higher educational establishments of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the scientific communities of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Among the distinguished participants were President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Academician Khushvakhtzoda Qobiljon Khushvakht; Professor Fuming Chen, Professor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Hainan University; Director of the S.A. Azimov Physical-Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Husniddin Qosimovich Olimov; Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Qosim Olimov; and Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Eduard Nikolaevich Tsoy.

The plenary session of the conference was opened with a welcoming address by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Academician Khushvakhtzoda Qobiljon Khushvakht. During the conference, scientific presentations were delivered on current issues in modern physics, chemistry and chemical engineering, statistical physics, high-energy physics, and other areas of fundamental and applied research.

One of the plenary presentations was delivered by Professor Fuming Chen on the topic “Electrochemical Desalination.” The presentation addressed modern approaches to the electrochemical desalination of water, which are particularly relevant amid the growing demand for clean water and the search for energy-efficient technologies. This field lies at the intersection of fundamental research and practical technologies and is of significant importance for addressing challenges related to water resources and sustainable development.

The presentation by the Director of the S.A. Azimov Physical-Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Husniddin Qosimovich Olimov, attracted considerable interest among the participants. In his presentation, he provided an overview of the institute’s structure, its principal areas of scientific activity, ongoing research, and the priority tasks of its scientific departments. Particular attention was paid to the development of research in high-energy physics, nuclear physics, particle physics, and other important areas of modern physical science.

The Director of the S.U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Afzalshoh Qahramon Zarifzoda, presented a plenary report entitled “Statistical Theory of Anisotropic Thermal Conductivity of Magnetic Fluids.” The presentation focused on the study of the physical properties of magnetic fluids and the development of statistical-physical approaches to investigating their thermal conductivity.

A special place in the conference program was occupied by the session “In Memory of the Scientist,” dedicated to the memory of Academician Hikmat Halimovich Muminov. The participants highlighted his outstanding contribution to the development of national physical science, the organization of scientific activities, and the training of a new generation of researchers. The academic legacy of the scientist, including his ideas, works, and scientific school, continues to develop through the research of his students, colleagues, and followers.

During the commemorative session, relatives, colleagues, and students of Academician Hikmat Halimovich Muminov shared their memories and expressed words of gratitude in his memory. His sister, Rayhon Halimovna Muminova, also participated in the event. The organizers and participants warmly welcomed her and expressed their appreciation for her participation in this commemorative occasion.

The International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Theory of Solitons and Nonlinear Dynamical Systems” became an important scientific event that contributed to the development of international scientific cooperation, the exchange of research results, and the strengthening of professional ties among scientists from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, China, and other scientific centers.

Events of this kind create favorable conditions for discussing contemporary problems in fundamental and applied science, establishing new scientific contacts, developing joint research projects, and training young specialists. International cooperation plays a particularly important role in this process, making it possible to combine the scientific potential of research institutions from different countries in addressing pressing scientific and technological challenges.

The S.U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan continues to develop international scientific cooperation and support the organization of scientific conferences, seminars, and other events aimed at advancing fundamental and applied research, strengthening scientific ties, and training highly qualified scientific personnel.

The conference was another important step toward strengthening scientific cooperation and advancing modern physical and technical research, as well as a tribute to the memory of an outstanding scientist and representative of the Tajik scientific school, Academician Hikmat Halimovich Muminov.
