MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between the S.U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute (Tajikistan) and the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (Germany)

One of the effective methods for the development of scientific research is the organization of cooperation and joint research between scientists from various scientific institutions. In this vein, the S.U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute has established fruitful scientific cooperation with a number of domestic and foreign institutions. In particular, for many years the institute has been conducting joint projects and joint scientific research with the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS, Leipzig, Germany) in the field of atmospheric physics. As part of this cooperation, a number of plans were implemented, such as the installation of the Lidar research complex (6th in the world) in the scientific laboratory of the institute and continuous research in this direction (since 2019), the exchange of Tajik and German young scientists in in order to train highly qualified personnel in the field of meteorology and climatology between the S.U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute and the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (since May 2022 – 6 young scientists), etc.

In this regard, on June 25, 2022, with the participation of Professor of the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research – Dietrich Althausen signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the S.U. Umarov Physical-Technical Institute and the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research on cooperation in the following areas:

  • physical processes in the atmosphere
  • nuclear-physics research methods
  • cosmic rays and ultrahigh energy physics
  • physics of semiconductors
  • spectroscopy
  • acoustics
  • renewable energy sources

etc.
