On July 3-6, 2023, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna (Austria) is holding a technical meeting on digital monitoring and control systems for research reactors. Young scientists and specialists of the IAEA member states are invited to this event. In particular, the scientific secretary of the S.U.Umarov Physical–Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan – H.R.Rahmonov.
The purpose of this event is, first of all, to improve the skills of young participants of the event in the field of digitalization of control and management systems for reactor technologies, as well as the exchange of experience regarding the technical and management aspects of research reactor projects (associated with both modernization and design and construction of new facilities), which are related to digital control and management systems.
Recall that at the S.U.Umarov Physical–Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan has a unique research reactor Argus-FTI, which at one time was produced in two copies. At the moment, this institute, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Academy of Sciences, is carrying out phased work to restore the research reactor in order to develop radiopharmaceuticals for diagnosing oncological diseases, as well as to conduct research and experimental work on neutron activation analysis. At the same time, along with technical solutions, one of the urgent tasks is the training of highly qualified domestic young scientific personnel in the field of nuclear physics.
To this end, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan takes regular measures to support the training and advanced training of young physicists. The participation of a young scientist of the institute in such an important event became possible thanks to the support of the IAEA, the Government of the country, as well as the assistance of the National Academy of Sciences and the Agency for Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Safety of the National Academy of Science.
